Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Cor. 5:17)

The new birth experience not only gives life to our human spirit which was cut off from God, it also makes our spirit NEW.  The word new means:  recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn; of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of.

This incredible, transforming work of the Spirit happens when one’s heart believes unto righteousness.  A new spiritual creation comes into being.  Most believers understand this concept, but what we may not understand is that our ‘new man’ never grows old.  It gets renewed daily!

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.  (2 Cor. 4:16)

The word ‘renewed’ means ‘to receive new strength and vigor; to be changed into a new kind of life as opposed to the former corrupt state.’  I didn’t just get made new 43 years ago.  I am renewed daily!  In fact, we can assume that our spirit man is receiving new strength and vigor moment by moment.

Nothing about God ever grows old therefore His Spirit in us must be continually new.  His grace does not wear out nor diminish.  His purpose for us never dies.  His gifts in us are always available.  His mercies are new every morning.  Every day is literally a NEW DAY with a NEW life inside!  Our minds are being transformed to comprehend this truth, and we grow in knowledge and wisdom, but our spirit man never grows old.

Today is a new beginning.  If you need a new beginning, take it.  Your spirit is receiving new strength and vigor right now, and now, and now, and now.
